Accounts open soon.

Everything on this site is already free to read without one, and that is not going to change. An account will add the things that only make sense when they are saved.

What an account will do

  • Follow an opportunity. Be told when a rotation opens in your state or a mentor in your specialty starts taking students, rather than checking.
  • Keep a list. Programmes, schools and deadlines you are tracking, with your own notes, in one place across a whole cycle.
  • Ask in one click. Request a shadowing day or a project without writing the same three lines about yourself each time.
  • Carry it forward. The account you make as a pre-med is still yours as an MS4 — and the day you have an NPI it becomes the way into the physician network.

Why there is no form here yet

Some of the people reading this are fifteen. Registering them means holding names and email addresses belonging to minors, and that needs a consent position, a retention period and a working delete button before it needs a sign-up button. We would rather be a month late than hold data we have not decided how to look after.

So for now: if you want to be told when accounts open, email students@md-universe.com. That sits in an inbox, not in a database, and one line back to us removes it.

A student account is not a verified physician account. It is an ordinary email login for this site only, and it gives no access to anything on the physician side of MD-Universe. A student account will live in its own store, entirely apart from the physician side, so an unverified account can never appear as a member or read anything a physician reported in confidence.
